Dr. Caitlin S. Brown is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy and Emergency Medicine at the Mayo School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Brown obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA, then completed a PGY1 Residency at Mayo Clinic and a PGY2 Residency in Critical Care at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME.
Dr. Brown has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles related to the care of critically and emergently ill patients. She has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine and currently serves as a Member at Large for the Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology section within the Society of Critical Care Medicine. She is also the Programming Chair for the Academic Emergency Medicine Pharmacist Interest Group within the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine.

Heather Draper, PharmD, BCPS, BCEMP is an Emergency Medicine Pharmacist at Trinity Health Grand Rapids in Michigan. She received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Ferris State University and completed residency training in Michigan. Dr. Draper's passion for documenting the impact of pharmacy services has been demonstrated through her scholarly pursuits of research evaluating the role and impact of the pharmacist in the Emergency Department and by raising awareness through educational efforts in the medical community. Dr. Draper has joyfully served in several educational roles over the course of her career and has been recognized by receiving Excellence in Teaching, Most Influential Professor and Preceptor of the Year Awards. Most recently, Dr. Draper has expanded her role to include clinical, educational and leadership service in providing care to marginalized and vulnerable populations in low- and limited-resource settings throughout the world.

Dr. Ryan Feldman is a consulting clinical toxicologist for the Wisconsin Poison Center, an emergency medicine (EM) pharmacist practicing at Froedtert Hospital, and as an assistant professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He obtained his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed a two-year pharmacy residency specializing in acute care, emergency medicine, and toxicology at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin. Subsequently, he assumed a full-time position as an EM pharmacist while working as a certified specialist in poison information at the Wisconsin Poison Center. Dr. Feldman achieved board certification in toxicology from the American Board of Applied Toxicology (ABAT) in 2018, facilitating his transition to a toxicologist role.
Presently, Dr. Feldman practices as an EM pharmacist at an academic, tertiary referral, level one trauma, and stroke certified urban emergency department where he actively manages poisoning and overdoses cases at the beside. In addition, he provides telemedicine consulting on poisoning and overdose throughout the entire state via the Wisconsin Poison Center.
Along with clinical duties, Dr. Feldman lectures in toxicology at the Medical College of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy and serves as a core faculty member for their medical toxicology fellowship. He has presented locally and nationally on emergency medicine and toxicology and authored over 25 peer-reviewed research articles, alongside book chapters and reviews. His work has garnered recognition from outlets such as science.com, the New York Times, and Medscape.
Dr. Feldman also holds leadership roles in national emergency medicine and toxicology organizations. He has been appointed to the steering committee of the Academic Emergency Medicine Pharmacist (AEMP) society, serves as co-chair for the Acute and Intensive Care section of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology (AACT), and is an acting board member of the American Board of Applied Toxicology.

Dr. Frederick is an Associate Professor and the Director of Student Affairs at Sullivan University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Geier is an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist at San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center for the San Francisco Department of Public Health and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCSF School of Pharmacy. Dr. Geier graduated from the University of Washington School of Pharmacy and completed residencies in Acute Care at Franciscan Health System in Tacoma, WA and Critical Care at the University of California San Diego. He precepts and teaches pharmacy and physician residents and fellows from the UCSF Departments of Emergency Medicine and Clinical Pharmacy as well as from San Francisco General. Additionally, he serves as Pharmacotherapy Advisor for the San Francisco EMS System and was named the 2023 Hospital Provider of the Year for the San Francisco County EMS Agency. Dr. Josh Heffren is an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Children’s National Hospital, a level one trauma and academic medical center in Washington, DC. Dr. Heffren received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Purdue University College of Pharmacy in 2013. Upon graduation, he completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Children’s Hospital Colorado. He is recognized as a Board Certified Pediatric Pharmacy Specialist, serves as an emergency medicine preceptor for the PGY-1 and PGY-2 residency training programs at Children’s National Hospital, and teaches in the Shenandoah University School of Pharmacy Curriculum. In his current role, he oversees training of pharmacy residents for resuscitation and coordinates the Pharmacy Resident Acute Care Simulation Program to foster understanding, hands-on skills, and anticipatory needs during pediatric medical emergencies. His scholarly efforts have included pediatric nimodipine dosing for the prevention of cerebral vasospasm after subarachnoid hemorrhage, as well as reviews on pediatric community acquired pneumonia and pediatric sepsis. His advocacy for emergency medicine is demonstrated through expansion of onsite pharmacy services to achieve near 24/7 coverage at his current practice site which has evolved from the single position he accepted in 2016. At the enterprise level, Dr. Heffren has led efforts to enable prospective pharmacy review of all ED medication orders and has optimized and/or developed (where absent) institutional policies and procedures for crash carts, pharmacy response for medical and trauma resuscitation, Code Stroke, malignant hyperthermia, and the CHEMPACK program, which is part of the CDC’s Division of Strategic National Stockpile to provide timely deployment of nerve agent antidotes. His areas of interest include pediatrics, diabetic ketoacidosis, status epilepticus, rapid sequence intubation, resuscitation, toxicology, and professional development with hope of one day developing a PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Residency at his current practice site. Outside of the hospital, he loves to work out and travel.

She is a graduate of the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) School of Public Health with a Master’s in Public Health. Dr. Pop has been at the UIC College of Pharmacy-Rockford since 2015 and is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. She maintains a practice site in Emergency Medicine at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center Rockford, IL. Dr. Pop is recognized as a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. She is a preceptor in Emergency Medicine for pharmacy students, PGY1 and PGY2 resident(s). She is currently an EM PGY2 residency program director. She is core faculty for the HUMC Emergency Medicine Residency Program and precepts medical and pharmacy residents daily. Shi is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine in Nutley, NJ. She received her PharmD at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at HUMC and her PGY2 Emergency Medicine Residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. In 2019, Dr. Smith completed his MBA with a focus on healthcare administration and continues to refine his leadership skills through the ACCP Leadership Academy. After working in NY through various roles ranging from Lead EM pharmacist at Cornell to establishing the PGY-2 EM pharmacy residency in the South Bronx in conjunction with Touro College of Pharmacy and SBH Health System, Dr. Smith joined Scripps Mercy San Diego as an Emergency Medicine Pharmacist Specialist in 2020 and started Southern California’s only PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency in 2023. He has been invited to speak both nationally at ACCP and ASHP and published multiple articles ranging from pain management and opioid sparing therapies in the emergency department to ASHP’s Guidelines on Emergency Medicine Pharmacist Services. Dr. Smith’s professional affiliations include the ACCP, CSHP, SDSHP, and ASHP, where he serves as a faculty member for the BCEMP Review Course, immediate past president for the San Diego Society of Health System Pharmacist Chapter, and as the immediate past-chair for the ACCP Emergency Medicine PRN. He then completed PGY1 and PGY2 pediatric pharmacy residency programs at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Upon completion of his PGY2 program, Connor moved to Texas to work at Children's Medical Center in Dallas as a pediatric emergency medicine clinical pharmacist. After around 3 years in Dallas, Connor moved to Tacoma, Washington where he now lives and works as a pediatric clinical pharmacist at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital.

Dr. Kyle Weant is a Clinical Adjunct Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Outcomes Sciences at the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy. Dr. Weant also maintains a practice site in emergency medicine. He has dedicated his career to advancing emergency medicine, initiating and practicing as an emergency medicine specialist at the University of Kentucky and the Medical University of South Carolina. He has also worked for Public Health Preparedness and Response, helping to assist local, state, and federal governments to better prepare for natural and man-made disasters. He has also helped design and lead PGY2 Emergency Medicine Residency Programs at two different institutions. He is very active with the with the Emergency Medicine PRN within ACCP, serving as its President in 2015. Dr. Weant has collaborated with other researchers across various institutions investigating emergency medicine practices and looking for opportunities to optimize care, minimize medication errors, and reduce hospital admissions.

Dr. David E. Zimmerman is an associate professor of pharmacy at Duquesne University School of Pharmacy and emergency medicine pharmacist at the University of Pittsburg Medical Center-Mercy Hospital. He received his PharmD from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and PGY2 residency at Maimonides Medical Center. He has served on the ASHP New Practitioners forum and is past chair of the ASHP Emergency Medicine Advisory Group. He is past Pennsylvania delegate to the ASHP House of Delegates and has served on the ASHP Council on Education and Workforce Development. He is co-editor of the ASHP text Demystifying Drug Dosing in Obese Patients and has authored chapters in several other ASHP texts. He currently serves as a content matter expert and presenter in the ASHP/ACCP BCEMP Review Course and Literature Review Series.
