Heather Draper, PharmD, BCPS, BCEMP is a Clinical Pharmacist in Emergency Medicine at Mercy Health Saint Mary’s in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ferris State University College of Pharmacy and completed residency training in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Draper's passion for documenting the impact of pharmacy services has been demonstrated through her scholarly pursuits of research evaluating the role and impact of the pharmacist in the Emergency Department setting and by raising awareness through educational efforts in the medical community. Dr. Draper has joyfully served in several educational roles over the course of her career and has been recognized by receiving Excellence in Teaching, Most Influential Professor and Preceptor of the Year Awards. Most recently, Dr. Draper has expanded her role to include clinical, educational and leadership service in providing care to marginalized and vulnerable populations in low- and limited-resource settings throughout the world.

Ryan Feldman completed his Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and continued on to complete two years of residency training with his second year focusing in emergency medicine and toxicology. After residency, Dr. Feldman began work as an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist at a level one trauma and academic medical center. He also maintained an appointment at the Wisconsin Poison Center as a Certified Poison Specialist, triaging and providing medical recommendations for poisoned patients throughout Wisconsin. In October 2018, he became credentialed as a Board Certified Clinical Toxicologist through the American Board of Applied Toxicology (ABAT). He now works as a consulting clinical toxicologist and acts as the co-chair for the Acute & Intensive Care Section of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology. In 2019 he received an appointment at the Medical College of Wisconsin in the School of Pharmacy and division of emergency medicine. Dr. Feldman’s current activities include full time clinical work as an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist and Toxicologist, clinical research, precepting learners, acting as a core preceptor for the Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency at Froedtert Hospital, and teaching in the MCW School of Pharmacy Curriculum.

Dr. Emily Frederick received a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Shenandoah University Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy in Winchester, Virginia and completed a pharmacy practice residency at Geisinger Medical Center in central Pennsylvania. Dr. Frederick is an associate professor and the Vice Chair of the Pharmacy Practice Department at Sullivan University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Louisville, Kentucky. She practices as a clinical pharmacist at the University of Louisville Hospital as part of the Emergency Department Hospitalist Team. Dr. Frederick is active in local and national professional organizations and serves on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Society of Health-System Pharmacists. In her free time, Dr. Frederick enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, baking, and evaluating literature.

Dr. Geier is an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center for the San Francisco Department of Public Health and Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF School of Pharmacy. He completed pharmacy school at the University of Washington and subsequently completed residency training at Franciscan Health/St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA and critical care pharmacy residency training at UC San Diego. Following residency, he joined the ZSFG ED and has served in his current role since 2012. He serves as preceptor for the SFGH PGY1 pharmacy and PGY2 Psychiatry pharmacy residencies, UCSF Emergency Medicine, Critical Care and Pediatrics PGY2 pharmacy residencies as well as the UCSF Emergency Medicine physician residency program. His research interests include social determinants of health and substance use disorders as well as cardiac emergencies. Outside of the hospital, he loves to run, surf and snowboard.

Dr. Josh Heffren is an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Children’s National Hospital, a level one trauma and academic medical center in Washington, DC. Dr. Heffren received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Purdue University College of Pharmacy in 2013. Upon graduation, he completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Children’s Hospital Colorado. He is recognized as a Board Certified Pediatric Pharmacy Specialist, serves as an emergency medicine preceptor for the PGY-1 and PGY-2 residency training programs at Children’s National Hospital, and teaches in the Shenandoah University School of Pharmacy Curriculum. In his current role, he oversees training of pharmacy residents for resuscitation and coordinates the Pharmacy Resident Acute Care Simulation Program to foster understanding, hands-on skills, and anticipatory needs during pediatric medical emergencies. His scholarly efforts have included pediatric nimodipine dosing for the prevention of cerebral vasospasm after subarachnoid hemorrhage, as well as reviews on pediatric community acquired pneumonia and pediatric sepsis. His advocacy for emergency medicine is demonstrated through expansion of onsite pharmacy services to achieve near 24/7 coverage at his current practice site which has evolved from the single position he accepted in 2016. At the enterprise level, Dr. Heffren has led efforts to enable prospective pharmacy review of all ED medication orders and has optimized and/or developed (where absent) institutional policies and procedures for crash carts, pharmacy response for medical and trauma resuscitation, Code Stroke, malignant hyperthermia, and the CHEMPACK program, which is part of the CDC’s Division of Strategic National Stockpile to provide timely deployment of nerve agent antidotes. His areas of interest include pediatrics, diabetic ketoacidosis, status epilepticus, rapid sequence intubation, resuscitation, toxicology, and professional development with hope of one day developing a PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Residency at his current practice site. Outside of the hospital, he loves to work out and travel.

Daniel Jarrell is a Clinical Pharmacist in Emergency Medicine at Banner University Medical Center - Tucson as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor with the University of Arizona - College of Pharmacy. He serves as a preceptor for the emergency medicine rotation for PGY1 and PGY2 residents, and directly precepts approximately 10-15 residents per year in this area. As a previous member of the Section Advisory Group for Emergency Medicine within ASHP, he developed content for the ASHP EM Certificate Program, contributed multiple presentations to the ASHP Emergency Care Recorded Pharmacist Series (REPS), and is a co-author of the 2021 ASHP Guidelines on Emergency Medicine Pharmacist Services. His specific interests include rapid sequence intubation, post-intubation sedation/analgesia management, anticoagulation reversal, toxicology, and teaching.

Jenny Koehl, PharmD, BCPS, BCEMP is an emergency medicine clinical specialist and Coordinator of the PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. After earning her PharmD degree at UCSF (2015), she returned home to Wisconsin to complete my PGY-1 and PGY-2 Emergency Medicine pharmacy residencies (2015-2017) at the University of Wisconsin Health. Following residency, she moved to Boston to join the incredible EM team at MGH. Her passions include advancing pharmacy resident education and research training, mentorship, national committee involvement, and global health. Her clinical practice interests include neurology, geriatrics, and substance use disorders.

Maggie Ma, PharmD, BCPS is an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Marianne Pop received her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Pharmacy. After graduation, she completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, IL and a PGY2 in Emergency Medicine at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL. She recently graduated from the University of Illinois School of Public Health with a Master’s in Public Health. Dr. Pop has been at the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy-Rockford since 2015 and is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. She maintains a practice site in Emergency Medicine at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center Rockford, IL. Dr. Pop is recognized as a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. She is a preceptor in Emergency Medicine for pharmacy students and PGY1 residents. Her scholarly activities have focused on mechanical ventilations and sedation, medication errors, and case reports on adverse events. She is active in national societies that serve the pharmacy profession, including serving as vice-chair for the Section Advisory Group on Emergency Medicine for the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists and serving as recent chair of the New Practitioner Network for the Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists. At both the university and hospital organizational levels, she is involved in committees charged with governing bylaws and patients care, respectively. Her future goals include developing a PGY2 Emergency Medicine Residency.

Dr. Gabrielle Procopio is currently the Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist and the PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency Program Director at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ. She is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine in Nutley, NJ. She got her PharmD at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at HUMC and her PGY2 Emergency Medicine training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Her current areas of focus within emergency medicine are infectious disease, toxicology, and neurology.

Liz Rozycki, PharmD, BCPS, BCEMP, is a Specialty Practice Pharmacist in Emergency Medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy and completed post-graduate training at The Johns Hopkins Hospital for PGY1 and PGY2 Emergency Medicine. She serves as a preceptor for APPE students and the pharmacy residents at Ohio State University. She coordinates an emergency medicine elective for second and third year pharmacy students at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. Dr. Rozycki’s research interests include emergency department transitions of care, infectious disease and antithrombotic therapy. Dr. Rozycki is an active member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.

Dr. Smith completed his PharmD at Northeast Ohio Medical University, followed by his PGY-1 pharmacy residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center and PGY-2 in emergency medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Most recently, Dr. Smith completed his MBA with a focus on healthcare administration. After working in NY through various roles ranging from Lead EM pharmacist at Cornell to establishing the PGY-2 EM pharmacy residency in the South Bronx in conjunction with Touro College of Pharmacy and SBH Health System, Dr. Smith joined Scripps Mercy San Diego as an Emergency Medicine Pharmacist Specialist in 2020. He has been invited to speak both nationally and locally, and published multiple articles ranging from pain management and opioid sparing therapies in the emergency department to ASHP’s Guidelines on Emergency Medicine Pharmacist Services. Dr. Smith’s professional affiliations include the ACCP, CSHP, SDSHP, and ASHP, where he serves as a member of the Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists’ Advisory Group on Emergency Medicine, a board member and delegate for the local San Diego Society of Health System Pharmacist Chapter, and the chair-elect for the emergency medicine PRN. In his spare time, he is exploring San Diego’s microbreweries or catching a breeze while learning to sail.

Heather Tilley is an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist at Children’s National Hospital, where she coordinates the Pharmacy Resident Acute Care Simulation Program and PGY2 Pediatric Emergency Medicine rotation. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Washington followed by a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, and PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency at the University of Arizona Banner—University Medical Center. She has worked in a variety of healthcare environments including community pharmacy, institutional pharmacy, long-term care, and as a registered nurse assistant for the disabled. She was awarded the U.S. Public Health Service Award for Excellence in Public Health Pharmacy in 2017 for her engagement in leadership and the local community. Her areas of interest include emergency medicine, pediatrics, and professional development.

Kyle Weant, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP, FCCP, is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Outcomes Sciences at the University of South Carolina - College of Pharmacy. Dr. Weant also maintains a practice site in Emergency Medicine at Prisma Health Richland. Dr. Weant earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2003. He completed his PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency in 2004 and his PGY2 Critical Care Specialty Residency in 2005, both at the University of Kentucky. Over the course of this career, Dr. Weant has practiced as both a Neurosurgery and an Emergency Medicine Clinical Specialist at multiple academic institutions. He has also worked for Public Health Preparedness and Response, helping to assist local, state, and federal governments to better prepare for natural and man-made disasters. He helped design and implement clinical pharmacy services in various therapeutic areas; and served as PGY2 Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director at two different institutions. Dr. Weant is active in conducting clinical, practice-based research investigations with the goal of improving Emergency Medicine and pharmacy practice. He has led multiple investigations seeking to employ novel concepts to help elevate the care of patients in the Emergency Department and beyond. He continues to collaborate with other researchers across various institutions investigating Emergency Medicine practices and looking for opportunities to optimize care, minimize medication errors, and reduce hospital admissions.

David E. Zimmerman, PharmD, BCCCP, BCEMP is an associate professor of pharmacy at Duquesne University School of Pharmacy and emergency medicine pharmacist at UPMC-Mercy. He graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and went on to complete a PGY2 emergency medicine residency at Maimonides Medical Center. Following residency, Dr. Zimmerman joined faculty at Duquesne University and started emergency medicine pharmacy services at UPMC-Mercy. He is co-editor and author of ASHP's publication "Demystifying Drug Dosing in Obese Patients", has served as a Pennsylvania delegate to the ASHP House of Delegates, and has served as chair of the ASHP Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientist's Emergency Medicine SAG. His research interests include dosing dosing in large body weight patients and pain management in the ED.

Dr. Zschoche is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Emergency Medicine at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and a PGY2 Pharmacy Residency in Emergency Medicine at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. In 2014, she received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University. Her practice interests include emergency medicine, toxicology, medication safety, and pre-hospital emergency medical services. Dr. Zschoche is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Dr. Zschoche sits on ASHP Section Advisory Group (SAG) for Emergency Medicine.
